FULL VACCINATION IS MANDATORY FOR THIS EVENT. PLEASE SEE OUR COVID SAFETY STATEMENT.
Early in the autumn of 1991, Chiba Sensei came to Ann Arbor to help us inaugurate the first dedicated dojo space for Aikido training in his lineage here. Training has continued unbroken in our own spaces through three locations and one global pandemic.
We are pleased to invite you to help us celebrate this occasion, and to lay the foundation for the next 30 years!

COVID 19 NOTIFICATION
"True Budo is a work of love. It is a work of giving life to all beings." - Ueshiba Morihei O Sensei, Aikido Founder
We are determined to conduct this seminar in the safest possible manner for the participants, and for our families and communities. As martial artists, we believe that our primary concern lies in protecting others around us, just as we care for our uke even in the midst of our most intense training.
To that end, we must respectfully request that all participants be fully vaccinated prior to this event, as are all our guest instructors, all the members of Huron Valley Aikikai, and large swaths of the local community, led by the University of Michigan - which now requires vaccination for all its faculty, students and staff (91% of U of M students are fully vaccinated. Go Blue!). Exceptions will be made for those with legitimate dispensation from a medical professional, though we encourage those who are unable to be vaccinated to carefully assess their potential risks. We politely request documentation of participants' vaccination status prior to the event.
Participants are encouraged to take additional steps to help ensure everyone's safety, such as:
-
Practicing elevated COVID hygiene for 5-7 days prior to the seminar (e.g., avoiding crowds/indoor spaces with large numbers of unknown people; working from home, etc.) to the greatest degree feasible.
-
Strongly considering taking a PCR or antigen COVID test as close to the seminar dates as possible (ideally no more than 72 hours prior). If such a test comes back positive, your seminar fees will be refunded in full, no questions asked.
Thank you in advance for helping us to keep moving forward as safely as possible!
